    A Handsome 18th Century Virginian Red Walnut Comb-back Windsor Armchair of generous proportions. The curved cresting rail above eight turned spindles leading down to the one piece arm-bow with three further underarm spindles either side and shaped-plank end supports below the out-swept pad terminals. The broad seat with back-swept front corners standing on four cabriole legs joined by a turned H-form stretcher.

    An Unusual 19th Century Yew-wood Primitive High Comb-back Windsor Rocking-chair. The spatula shaped head rest on seven stick spindles leading down to pierce through the cross rail with two further spindles, one each side, in turn leading down to the arm bow and three more splayed under-arm supports morticed into the oval seat. Standing on hand shaped elliptical legs joined by an H-form stretcher terminating on long rockers. From Sir Alistair Graham's Collection, Lower Old Hall, Norland.

The hoop back having a central splat pierced with 'Christmas-tree' fret-work and flanked by four stick spindles leading down to the three part arm-bow with out-swept pad terminals. The lower pierced splat flanked by turned spindle supports. The seat on turned legs joined by an H-form stretcher and resting on rockers (A/F).
