    A George I Boarded Oak Desk Box, dated 1717. The lid having a moulded front edge and engrailed ends measuring 28 ins x 17 ins (71 cms x 43 cms). The front having two lunettes gouge carved with stylised leaves & cross-hatching enriched with punchwork, with the initials ER and date 1717 scribed beneath the iron lockplate, 8½ ins (22 cms) in height.

The lid measuring 14½ x 10 ins (37 cms x 25 cms) and having an applied bevel-edged lip with iron strap hinges enclosing a box compartment above two small moulded drawers fitted with brass ring handles on a moulded base and bracket feet, 11½ ins (29 cms) in height. The front branded with the initials P.H. beneath the keyhole.
