The gilded figural stems in the form of a faun & Bacchanalian cherub wreathed in fruiting vines: both clutching dark-patinated bronze branches entwined with vines curving upwards to form the drip trays, surmounted with gilt bronze cups. The round porphyry supporting columns topped with beading and festooned with gilt garlands of flowers and fruit with a collar of acanthus above a quadriform plinth base, 22½ ins (57 cms) in height. .

    A Delightful Louis XVI Style Figural Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock by Prosper Roussell, Paris. The signed white-enamel clock dial having a convex glass door edged in beading & flanked by the infant figures of Cupid & Psyche standing with linked hands: their billowing drapes flowing down towards a highly decorative platform base. The stop-fluted columnar centre adorned with rising bellflowers above a breakfront plinth bordered in ribbon-entwined strings of beads and swathed in acanthus leaves issuing seeding spurs. Standing 18 ins (46 cms) high on lozenge shape beaded feet.
