    A Large 16th Century & Later German Oak Clamp Front Coffer. The long iron straps and knopped hasp attached to the thick plank lid with chip carved bands. The iron lockplate with shaped corners fixed to the later carved front with Gothic style tracery arches and geometric borders. The stiles carved with animal figures in roundels. 30 ins (76 cms) high, 73 ins (186 cms) wide, 25 ins (64 cms) deep.
