    LOT NUMBER 121

    A Fine Early 20th Century French Silver Plated Duck Press by Cailar, Bayard & Cie, Paris. The culinary apparatus invented in France during the 1800's by the eminent chef Mechenet, having a screw thread press with bar handle to the top, driving a flat disk into a removal pot with drainer encased by a dome topped vessel with hinged sides and draining spout. The case elevated on the heads of two elephants above splayed elephantine legs leading down to a rectangular base, stamped with makers marks to the base and hallmarks to the body, numbered '69914'. [Provenance: Said to have been bought from The Oak Room Bar, Plaza Hotel, Manhattan, NYC, for the sum of $25,000, 1982.]

    A Pair of 19th Century Silver Candlesticks with marks for Kleucher Germany 1830-35. The bobeches cast with an outer ring of leaves and slotting into knopped and tapering stems on round bases adorned with further foliate bands, 10¾ ins (27 cms) in height.

    A Good Quality Victorian Silver Plated Epergne embellished with bands of flower heads & scrolling foliate decoration. The baluster stem bearing four fluted cut glass dishes with scalloped edges; three small dishes on silhouette cut scrolling arms emanating from a ball knop below the principal dish raised up to the centre. The round foot stamped with registration kite mark for 31st May 1875, 22 in (56 cms) in height.

    A 19th Century Silver Plated Champagne Cooler having a lobed tapering body with out-flared base on three small scrolling foliate feet. The twin handles cast with fruiting vine, the board down-turned rim and flared foot cast and chased with undulating garlands of flowers and foliage. The base stamped Cyrillic text. 10½ in (27 cm) in height.

    A Pair of Fine Silver Three Branch Candelabra by Edisson, Copenhagen 1907. The scrolling foliate arms bearing gadrooned candle cups above foliate drip trays emanating from a central platform surmounted by a flame finialed urn. The platforms slotting into sockets of the knopped stems, embossed and chased with floral garlands and leading down to domed bases adorned with face masks, cornucopia of flowers and foliate scrolls, 14¾ ins (37 cms) in height.
