    A Late 17th/Early18th Century Italian Carved & Gessoed Pricket Stick and a Polychromed Wood Carving of a Franciscan Monk. The pricket having an iron spike above a knopped stem and triform base on scroll feet, 18 ins (36 cms) in height. The tonsured monk depicted holding a book and standing barefoot on a square base, wearing a dark brown hooded cloak and flowing tunic tied with rope at the waist; his garb enriched with elaborate gilt decoration. 12½ ins (31.5 cms) in height.
