    A Pair of 19th Century Marquetry Tables. The rectangular tops inlaid with an urn cascading flowers displayed against a dark background within diagonally grained borders enhanced with scrolling inlaid bands. The serpentine frieze inlaid with trailing garlands, fitted with a drawer and raised on cabriole legs, 28½ ins (72.5 cms) high, 35 ins (89 cms) wide, 20 ins (51 cms) deep.

    LOT NUMBER 252

    A Fine Quality 19th Century Inlaid Rosewood Metamorphic Card Table/Firescreen. The hinged fold up top decorated with inlaid foliate scrolls festooned in fruiting vine and edged in satinwood stringing. The gilt brass hinges signed J. Hewland and having screw fast knobs securing the leaves, releasing to open and reveal a green baize playing surface resting on fly bracket supports underneath. The stop fluted side columns having fine Corinthian style gilt bronze capitals and flanking a shield shaped screen infilled with velvet devoiré panels of foliage. The down-swept legs inlaid with bell flowers and capped with foliate cast caps and castors.

    LOT NUMBER 253

    A Fine Inlaid Mahogany Chiming Longcase Clock by Edwards & Roberts, Circa 1900. The eight day movement with anchor escapement striking eight bells and a gong. The 12 inch (30.5 cms) brass dial with silvered chapter ring encircling a matted centre incorporating a seconds ring and maker's label engraved 'Edwards & Roberts London'. The arch housing a silvered Westminster Chimes/Whittington Chimes dial flanked by scrolling foliate mounts, with gilt figures representing the four seasons adorning the corners. The case finely inlaid with griffins, scrolling foliage festooned in drapery and satinwood banding to the dome topped trunk door. The hood with fluted side columns and a pagoda pediment surmounted by brass eagle & ball finials, 98½ ins (250 cms) in height.

    A Small 19th Century Amboyna Cartonnier Table. The striking burr-figured veneers enhanced by contrasting stings of ivory inlay. The rectangular top bordered in kingwood cross-banding. The frieze having two hinged doors opening to reveal compartmented racks for ink wells, pens, etc. to the insides, with the top sliding back to reveal pigeon holes. Standing on square legs with out swept feet and two cross stretchers connecting curved side rails. 32 ins (81 cms) high, 24 ins (61 cms) wide, 17¼ ins (44 cms) deep.

    A Fine Edwardian Quartetto of Satinwood Tables. The graduated stack of tables having rectangular tops clad in figured veneer within king-wood crossbanded borders accented by ebony stringing. Standing on faux bamboo legs with curved back rails and outswept legs inlaid with ebony strings. The largest table 27½ ins (70 cms) high, 19¼ ins x 13½ ins (49 cms x 34.5 cms).

    A Fabulous Quality 19th Century Marquetry Credenza with Ormolu Mounts. The satinwood top with mahogany cross-banding above a central panel door lavishly inlaid with a bouquet of flowers depicted in various coloured veneers on a contrasting ebony ground with satinwood bordering bands and gilded paterae adorning the re-entrant corners. The canted break-front pilasters mounted with caryatids and flanked by mirror backed concaved side shelves. 48 ins (122 cms) high, 57½ ins (146 cms) wide, 16 ins (41 cms) deep.
