Description
A 19th Century Viennese Silver & Gilt Metal Table Clock encrusted with jewels. The silver dial cast with figures holding a crown above a ‘G’ on a pedestal inscribed ‘Vict London’ to the centre, within a ring of Roman numerals and five minute Arabic numerals to the border, defined against a recessed matted ground. The dial encircled by a silver & gilt petalled surround studded with simulated rubies and turquoise beads and surmounted by an eagle finial with outspread wings. The oval columnar pedestal and plinth base elaborately engraved with scrolling foliage mounted with simulated gems stones. The column having an oval opening to the front revealing a gilded niche with Saint Cecilia playing an organ contained within, the column flanked by soldiers. Standing on lion paw feet, 11” (28 cm) in height.
