A 19th Century Sampler by Jane Gower dated April 12 1861, finely worked with alphabet and religious verse above a house, weeping willows, potted plants, trees, small animals etc, in an undulating foliate border. The stitch-work embellished with tiny beads. Set behind glass in a rosewood veneered frame, 21” x 17¾” (53 cm x 43 cm).
