The subject depicted wearing a pearl necklace and a blue silk dress encrusted with jewels, with a burgundy sash draped over her shoulder 28½” x 21¼” (72 cm x 54 cm). Contained within a later swept giltwood frame open carved with shell crested motifs to the corners and sprays of flowers, with a plaque to the base inscribed; ‘Henrietta Maria (1609-1669)’, 34¾” x 22½” (88.5 cm x 70 cm).
