A 17th Century Joined Oak Wainscot Chair. The back having a shaped cresting rail centred by a demi-lune daisy-head flanked by sweeping acanthus between lobed ends, above a channel moulded top rail enriched with chip carving. The back panel carved with a four point motif emitting trefoil adornments. The arms resting on cannon barrel posts leading down to a planked seat and on to form similarly turned legs united by peripheral stretchers, 42½” (`108 cm) high, 26” (66 cm) wide.
