Description
A Superb James I Oak Joined Oak Box Stool, Circa 1620. The hinged rectangular top having a triple reeded edge. The sides carved with nulling enriched with punchwork, above applied moulding. Standing on rising baluster ring-turned legs united by peripheral stretchers and terminating on round squat feet. The box interior with traces of hand-blocked paper. 14½ in (37.6 cm) high, 16½ in (43 cm) wide, 11 in (28 cm) deep.
