Description
A Fine 17th Century Joined Oak Coffer decorated with elaborate chip-carving enriched with punchwork. The four panelled lid on iron staple hinges above a triple panelled front raised on tall stile supports. The facade richly decorated with intricate chip carving embellished with punched stars featuring S-scrolls adorning the frieze rail above lattice carved panels of repeated leafy lozenge motifs in gouge-carved bands. The muntins, base rail and stiles enriched with chipped wrigglework. 28 in (71 cm) high, 52¾ in (133 cm) wide, 19½ in (50 cm) deep.
