Description
A Late 17th/Early 18th Century Spindle-back Armchair, possibly American, New England. The pierced cresting rail carved with voluted C-scrolls above five turned spindles flanked by turned uprights with urn finials. The scroll end arms on baluster turned posts leading down to a rush seat with an attractive needlework swab cushion, standing on round turned legs united by turned stretchers, 45 in (114 cm) high, 24 in (61 cm) wide.
