A Fine George III Mahogany Breakfront Bookcase, Circa 1770. The upper section having four astrigal glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves sliding into side grooves, below a moulded cornice with nulled frieze. The base section with moulded breakfront top above a central drawer fitted with green baize slide pushing back to reveal a partitioned frieze compartment, flanked by side drawers; all with cock-beaded edges, brass lined keyholes and ornate cast swing handles on oval paterae mounts. The four lower cupboard doors having flame figured panels framed by moulding with re-entrant corner quadrants, above a plinth base, 92” (234 cm) high, 62” (157.5 cm) wide, 22½” (57 cm) deep.
