A 19th Century Chinese Export Writing Desk profusely carved with sprays of trailing prunus blossom and having an intricately pierced gallery back with a cabinet enclosing stationary racks to one side and a bank of drawers to the other. The frieze housing two drawers above an offset pedestal of five further drawers and an exuberantly carved cabriole leg decorated with a grotesque, intricate foliage, scrolling cloud forms and bats. 45½ in (115.5 cm) high, 30 in (76 cm) wide, 22 in (56 cm) deep.
