Description
A Large 17th Century Oak Box-topped Enclosed Chest with decorative moulding and appliqués. The upper section having a lift up lid above a central geometrically moulded panel flanked by arcaded panels adorned with turned fruitwood and stained facet cut appliqués, with split spindles ornamenting the divides. The base section having a long moulded frieze drawer above cushion front geometrically moulded doors centred by egg bosses and flanked by stop-fluting, split spindles and scrolling strapwork lappets. The doors opening to reveal three long internal drawers with iron loop handles, raised on block feet 52” (132 cm) high, 49” (125 cm) wide, 21¼” (54 cm) deep.
